TEF: constructing a 10-year roadmap

Date: Tuesday, 15 May 2018 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Location: Woburn House, 20-24 Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9HQ
Speaker(s):
  • A CGHE/Universities UK joint event

Overview

Designed to contribute to a long term vision for the development of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), this event brought together policymakers, those working in universities on learning and teaching and academic experts to explore how excellence can be defined and measured and how the TEF can support the enhancement of teaching and student choice.

Participants collectively built a 10-year roadmap for the development of the TEF by actively examining different perspectives throughout the day, including student views on teaching excellence, the Norwegian teaching excellence initiatives, teaching excellence in schools, the HEFCE learning gain pilots, and the Scottish approach to enhancement.

The outputs from the event will inform recommendations to the independent review of the TEF that will take place in 2018/19.
