Dr Nicholas Hillman

Nicholas Hillman is a Professor in the School of Education and Director of the SSTAR Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Hillman’s research focuses on higher education finance and policy in the United States.
A major part of his research agenda focuses on student loan debt and repayment. At the core of his work are commitments to college access and opportunity and ensuring research is useful for policy and practice. Dr. Hillman serves on several academic journal editorial boards and is a faculty affiliate with UW-Madison’s Institute for Research on Poverty and La Follette School of Public Affairs.
