Christopher Grillo
Christopher Grillo is the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration in the Connell School of Nursing and an adjunct faculty member in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. As the chief operating officer of the Connell School since 2015, he helps oversee all non-academic aspects of the school. He has taught Nonprofit Management, a survey course, to MBA, MSA and MSF students.
Christopher’s research focuses on the economics and finance of higher education, particularly, student and parental debt, higher education financial transparency and accountability, tuition pricing and institution viability. His dissertation, Shifting the Burden, focuses on parental decision making and perceived consequences of federal parent PLUS loan borrowing in the US. He expects to graduate with a Ph.D. from the Lynch School (BC), in spring 2024.
In his spare time, Chris is the chair of the finance committee, treasurer and member of the governance committee at St. Columbkille Partnership School in Brighton, MA, where he has served as a trustee since 2018. He serves as a committee member on the finance and investment committees at the Italian Home for Children in Jamaica Plain, MA since September 2022.
Chris earned his masters of education from the University of Southern California and his MBA and bachelors in finance both from Boston College.
