Recent developments in for-profit higher education in the US: implications for England
This seminar will explore the development and current situation of the for-profit higher education sector in the US, focusing on particular issues faced by the for profit sector: the type of education the for profit sector is able to provide; how this education is funded; student recruitment; graduate experience; faculty development; and any conflict between investor return and teaching quality.
It will also examine how likely it is that the situation in the US will be replicated in the UK, and the implications this has for UK higher education.
