Overview

EUROSTUDENT data provide a comprehensive, comparative overview of students? social and economic conditions in 28 countries of the European Higher Education Area.

Covering all aspects of the student life cycle from entry into higher education to an assessment of employment prospects, the project findings highlight the diversity of student populations across Europe, e.g. with regard to students? age, and their family and living situation.

In spite of clear differences across countries, similar patterns are found in most, if not all, countries when it comes to students without a higher education background. In comparison to their peers with academic parents, their living and study conditions are different in many regards.

The presentation will discuss the findings of the latest EUROSTUDENT report, highlighting key characteristics that differentiate Europe?s students, but also drawing attention to the patterns of inequality that are found across the different educational systems.
